Pandemic Observations -- November 11, US States & Canadian Provinces (Looking Good?):

Field of sunflowers under a blue sky with - perhaps - two monarch butterflies. Clear Skies Ahead?

What a week it’s been!  First the Red Tsunami the MSM was breathlessly forecasting for our mid-term elections failed to materialize, then Russia’s imperialist war of aggression against Ukraine suffered a humiliating defeat when they were forced to abandon the entire right bank of the Dnieper (along with the regional capital of Kherson), and now both the Arizona and Nevada Senate races have been called for the Democrats — giving us continued control over at least the Senate regardless of the result of the runoff in Georgia next month.  Even better, the House now stands at 205-D vs 211-R, with 19 seats yet to be called, and a fair chance that we could still retain control when the new Congress reconvenes in January!

Meanwhile concerning the still ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, no real new news constitutes pretty good actual news.  Despite the Veteran’s Day/Armistice Day holiday that delayed all Canadian data and a substantial portion of US data this week, it seems fairly clear that no new wave of infections is currently building here in North America (or most other parts of the world either, though China is still cause for potential concern).  And while our death toll still remains far too high (~300+ deaths per day), at least it seems to be moving in the right direction and is now at its lowest level in nearly 16 months.
